The Magic Bullet Blender ReviewsDoes the Bullet Blender Lose Its Target ... or on Target ?Have you ever seen the infomercial for the Magic Bullet blender? You know, the one with the family that gathered up together to have smoothies in the morning, the one that promises you a ten second coffee grinder, a five second smoothie, and a three second omelette? Well, after having used it myself, I can tell you that almost all of that is un-true. Yes, you can make those things with the little Bullet blender, but adjust your expectation and take their timing on how long these food and drink are prepared with a grain of salt. Magic Bullet Reviews ~ Can it Make Omelette in Three Seconds ?Let's start our reviews with the three second omelette. What did they put into the Magic Bullet blender for making their omelette on the infomercial? Oh yeah! Two eggs, some ham, cheese, a tomato (who puts tomato in a omelette recipe, I mean..really?) and onion. Blend it all together for "about three seconds" and viola- you have an omelette. Well first, I like a bit more stuff in my omelette then can fit safely in one of the little Magic bullet blender things, but if I wanted to make a large omelette, I should've just used my normal blender, so I will not fault for that. After about three seconds of blending, I was treated one of the most chunky looking omelettes I've ever seen in my life. So knowing that most things are not always as they seem on TV, I give an additional three seconds. Much to my surprise a lot of the food items were blended... the pearl onion, the cherry tomato, most of the ham, and definitely the eggs. But the cheese was still in some really large chunks. Even after another five seconds, I still had chunky cheese. Now, talking about cheese, I find out that Magic Bullet blender and cheese just don't mix. If it's a soft cheese, you'll find that it will just stick to blades, the sides, and anything else that might possibly be able to stick to. If it's even a remotely hard cheese it'll just get thrown around in the blender. OK, now, back to the omelette reviews. So I decided to pull it out and cut it by hand which was incredibly nasty, and very messy. My three second omelette came and went and what I ended up with was a delicious three minute omelette that I had to put more into than I should have had to based on the infomercial for this particular blender. After that, my omelette was very tasty. To conclude, the Bullet blender can be used to make omelette mixture, but it takes at least 3 minutes, instead of the promised 3 seconds from the infomercial. Magic Bullet Express Reviews ~ Can it Make Smoothie in 5 Seconds ?Now, let's move on to the five second smoothie, shall we? First things first, what do you need for smoothie? Obviously you need what you are going to flavor your smoothie with! In my case, I chose some frozen strawberries, bananas, and some raspberries. Just like in the commercial, I threw them all in the blender, added my juice with some ice, and let the magic happen! Much to my surprise, this one almost worked properly after about five seconds ... except the frozen strawberries were still pretty large chunks. I am sure it would have worked with fresh strawberries, but it had some trouble with the ice in the frozen strawberries. Total time to make my smoothie was about 45 seconds. Now, what was the final test? Ten second coffee grinds. Magic Bullet High Speed Reviews ~ Can It Grind Coffee in 10 Seconds ?Just like in the infomercial, the part that sold most people on the product in the first place, I diligently filled my Bullet blender about halfway with coffee beans, attached the blades and let her rip. After about ten seconds some of my coffee beans are ground, but about half or more were still pretty good-sized. So I put them in for another ten seconds with the same result. After about a minute to a minute and a half of grinding I did indeed get the espresso powder grind that they advertise you can get with the Magic blender in about ten seconds. Magic Bullet Blender Reviews ~The Good and the BadMost consumer reviews of the Magic Bullet blender I've seen found the same problems that I did. While it actually works for what the infomercial said it would work, it takes longer than a few second to do so. So the Magic Bullet infomercial is pretty misleading (any surprise here ?) Also this thing is amazingly hot after just a few minutes of use, things get stuck under the gasket when you are using it and it can make a horrible mess if you forget to take the gasket off for cleaning. On top of that, there are some problem areas with this little blender, most notably when dealing with hard items like potato, carrots, and frozen strawberries. But I found that it's pretty good for soft, fresh food and it's great at making pesto, salad dressings, and mixing up drinks. So before you buy one, bear in mind what this Bullet blender is good at, and bad at. Those that love it, claim that it is amazing for the things they use it, for instance for making pesto, salad dressing, and so forth. Those that dislike it, or rated about average complain that it doesn't do the things that it's advertised to do well. Things like food which are still in chunks after blending it for a while, and the fact that it takes much more time to process those. The conclusion, when it comes to the Magic bullet blender, is if you really want to do the things that it advertises that the product can do, go ahead and pull out your larger blender, and take the little bit of extra time to clean it because it will get the job done right, faster, and without the frustration of watching your Magic Bullet fail. But if you want to use this to make dressings, sauce, cream, and things which are not of high quantity and comes from anything fresh and soft, then Magic Bullet blender fits the bill. It's good enough to do the job quickly, and since it's small, it doesn't take much of countertop space and is quick to clean. Magic Blender ~ Where to BuyCosting around $50, Magic Bullet is now available pretty widely online. You can get the Magic Bullet Express blender here for a discount. If you search online, chances are you will see more stores carrying it, so you can pick and choose which one gives you the best price. Other As Seen on TV Blenders
