The Hamilton Beach Blender

Still strong after 100 years, is it for you?

Hamilton Beach Blenders are known far and wide for being able to make a good milkshake, in fact its what the company started out doing!

Started smack dab in the middle of the mid-west in Racine, Wisconsin, they were most noticed for the "Hamilton Beach drink mixer" back in 1911. This product was used to create malts and milkshakes, with the help of the Horlick Malted Milk Company.

When the company was first launched back in 1910, as the Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Company. Was a direct result of a businessman named L.H. Hamilton, and a remarkably talented mechanical inventor named Chester Beach, combine the two you get "Hamilton Beach" of course.

Hamilton Beach Rio Blender

Long before most of us were even born The Hamilton Beach drink mixer, was pleasing customers at every soda fountain and drugstore from coast to coast. It was not long before the company also produced products such as fans and proper mixers for batter and bread.

The Hamilton Beach Company is now headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and manufactures a slew of home appliances, and commercial restaurant equipment marketed primarily in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The company now sells more than 30 million appliances every year, and that number grows every year. They strive for excellence and quality in all their products and the blenders in the line are no exception.

The pride of the company is that they are:

"...built to last, every Hamilton Beach Blender is backed by a 3-year limited warranty. For additional protection, the all-metal electrics blender collection offers you a no-hassle 3-year replacement warranty." (Taken from Hamilton Beach Website)

Now, with new features like the 'wave action' system, these blenders have been doing what they do for almost 100 years. Making mixed drinks, malts and milkshakes for generations.

With so many blenders in the Hamilton Beach stable, we have reviewed the most popular (based on sales figures) and presented them here for you. Over time, we will review and add more from their line so be sure to check back often.

We have also sorted them by blender type for ease of navigation. So follow with us while we go over the most popular Hamilton Beach blenders and allow you to get a closer look at the company who has been doing kitchen appliances for so long.

Commercial Blenders

The Bar Blenders are the Hamilton Beach blenders that are hard at work in restaurants and bars, while a little pricey you can even have one in your own home now and it's not a hard transition at all for even a novice to start work with these blenders. With four mixing blades and the Wave-Action system, each get the job done very fast.

    Glass Jar and Multi-Purpose Blenders

The Glass Jar Blenders are for those that prefer the smooth clear glass design over plastic or metal, we also reviewed some of the Hamilton Beach blenders that are just that, glass jars! The thick glass jars are dishwasher safe and still able to hone in on the power of the wave-action system to make your blended drinks with no large ice chunks.

    We cover in detail:

  • Liquid Blu Five Speed Blender Model: 59205
  • Blendmaster Ten Speed Model: 50200MP
  • The Classic Chrome 12 speed Model: 52277
  • If the glass jar seems more your style, take a look at our review. of these three popular models and see if any are right for you.

The Multi-Purpose blender is more than just a blender. But before you decide to buy one, you should ask yourself,
"What do I want in a blender?"

One part Hamilton Beach blender, one part food processor? Or maybe one that you can take the cup with you? These blenders have that little somthing extra to make them multi-purpose. There are only two currently but both are so nice we had to give them a page of their own.

    They are:

  • Blender-Chef 12 speed Model: 52654
  • As well as the Stay or Go Ten Speed Model: 50639
  • Our Review of them here can give you more information on them and help you make the choice on if these are somthing you desire in your next blender.

    Eclectrics Red

    Eclectrics and Everything Else.

The Eclectrics Collection are all blenders that come in a variety of colors, inside our review you can get a glimpse at the stats, and the general feel we got for these blenders when we had a chance to handle them. Each and every one of them all feature stainless steel blades, with a durable 48 ounce glass jar, as well as the written three year warranty.

But the biggest appeal seems to be the wide range of colors that you can get the Eclectrics in.

As well as the written three year warranty but the biggest appeal seems to be the wide range of colors that you can get the Eclectrics in.

    The colors are:

  • Eclectrics Licorice (Black) 50117R
  • Eclectrics Sterling (Metal) 50110
  • Eclectrics Carmine (Red) 50132H
  • Eclectrics Sugar (White) 50111R
  • Eclectrics Ultramarine (Blue) 50130
  • If you want to read more about the Eclectrics line of Hamilton Beach blenders,
the review page. will give you all the information you would need to make a more informed decision on if this is the right blender for you.

Dispensing Blenders are without a doubt one of the more interesting concepts in a blender. It comes with its own spigot to pour the contents easily from the jug into your glass. With the Advanced Wave-Action system they promise for smooth results while being easy to clean. These include the popular Wave-Station Plus model and more.

We go into depth on these blenders inside:

  • Hamilton Beach Wave Station Express Model: 54614
  • Hamilton Beach Wave Station Plus Model: 53155
  • Along with the Dual Wave Versatile Blender Model: 52147
  • If you want to know more about these Hamilton Beach blenders you can do so by following this link to our review.

The single serve blenders do not get their own page due to the fact they are all the same save the color and there is little to say about them as a whole. The single serve blenders are small and easy to use. One button and a travel cup for an inexpensive little blender; these will make it easy to blend-n-go.

    Hamilton Beach Wave Station Express

While this is not the most in-depth review of these particular blenders, there is not much else to say about them.

    As for my review?

I can not say that I would buy one. I like Hamilton Beach as a company but these simply lack functionality for what I would use them for, or even for the occasional party. But if you are looking for a inexpensive, one-trick pony you could spend 20 dollars just about anywhere. Anyone can get a 'cheap' blender for 20 dollars, this is the $20 blender with a Hamilton Beach label. I would not expect much more than smoothies out of it.

    Comes in:

  • Black (51101B)
  • White (51101)
  • And Red (51101R)
