Is the Dualit Hand Blender 88860
the Best Value Immersion Blender Out There?
The 500-Watt Dualit hand blender model 88860, is the only entry in the immersion blender industry by Dualit.
While most companies saturate the market
with many models trying to make one for everyone, Dualit tends to make only one or two models per product type
that is usable by everyone and thus is able to focus its resources into a single
refined unit at a reasonable cost.
This is indeed the case with the Dualit immersion blender.
But does this hand blender meet customer's expectation ?
Dualit Hand Blender 88860 in Review
The Dualit Immersion Blender comes with a 500 watt motor built for heavy and hard
work in your kitchen. It is important to note here that since it's produced in the UK, 500 watt refers to the power when
used in European kitchens, which have a voltage of 220V.
If you use it in the US
which has a 110V voltage, the power of this blender actually translates to around 350 watt - unless of course you use a transformer when operating this.
Nevertheless, for an immersion blender, 350 watt is powerful and is therefore still very effective even when used in the US.
Unlike any other hand blender with similar price, this handy little device sports a speed variable, everywhere from 9,000 to 16,000 RPM.
On top of that it has the pulse feature that is so much loved;
kicking the rpm up to an impressive 17,000!
The blending stick offers comfortable grip and the immersible part is detachable
from the upper part which houses the motor. The detachable blade is a very convenient feature as it enables you to
just put the bottom part of the stick into the dishwasher.
You can purchase the immersion blender on its own and if you wish, add accessories as a separate kit (88875).
Or both the Dualit hand blender and accessories can be purchased as a package that
includes beaters, balloon whisk, and a chopping blade with a blending beaker and a 500ml container.
The cute little bonus that is also given with the Dualit hand blender, is a comprehensive cookbook for that offers things ranging from soups to mixed drinks
that can be done with your new hand blender.
In the kitchen, Dualit immersion blender performs very well. It can make cold thick smoothie out of frozen fruit and ice easily. It can puree soup, blend
sauce, mix drink, whip and whisk, as well as crush ice well. This is really a handy little device which can save you time by enabling you to blend, puree,
chop, mix, whip, and whisk various food items in their own pots or container. Depending on the food, it is more convenient to use a good quality hand blender such
as Dualit immersion blender, than to use a tabletop blender, because with a tabletop blender, you have to spend time setting it up. Then if you have many types of
food to blend, you have to wash the container and the blade each time. Hence, a good quality immersion blender like Dualit is a real investment for your kitchen.

But is it really that perfect ?
Of course not. Nothing is perfect. But, compared to other immersion blenders out there, the complaints are significantly less with this product.
Consumers have had some complaints such as the unit can become warm after prolonged usage, and that the labeling is not entirely accurate.
As alluded above, while the Dualit stick blender is offered as
a 500 watt hand blender, that is the European version.
The version for the US consumer is 320 watts, but that does not mean this hand blender is any less effective, it still generates the same power and RPM just due to
some manufacturing policy they did not convert the 500w to the US.
Like other immersion blenders out there, there has been also a few complaints of motor stop working, or the motor part stops engaging the blades. The
consensus, though, seems that this is a pretty durable little blender, which, even with heavy use, can still going strong for more than a year.
ALl in all, as far as the performance goes, customers are satisfied as food ends up in consistency intended by the users.

Dualit hand blender is an affordable heavy-duty blender which does the work well. In fact, it's so good that it's one of the blender product
which I can wholeheartedly endorse.
True that it's not good enough for commercial use, but this little gadget will surely not going to disappoint you.
